This next string of entries is from our recent week-long trip to Utah. Our primary purpose for making the sixteen-hour drive was to attend my husband's brother's wedding, but we took advantage of the time there to do many other fun things as well. Way too many to summarize in one post (stay posted for much much more).
The picture below is from one of many pit stops we took during the drive. Our motley crew is showing off there America's Got Talent abilities while stretching our stiff leg muscles. Apparently little Brooks' talent is to glare into the camera with intense focus.
It has to be said that we have avoided family road trips like the plague for the past five years since our adorable, but motion-sickness prone daughter, came into our family. By eighteen months of age she had learned to hold her own vomit bowl, which was great considering she threw up every time we were in the car even for a five-minute ride. It hasn't helped that two of her three brothers have also gone in and out of car-sickness stages.
The miracle is that despite the fact that I had carefully armed myself for this particular trip with Dum Dums, Bonine, Dramamine, and Ginger candy, we ended up needing absolutely none of it. That's right, there wasn't even a notable moment of car sickness, which was nothing short of heavenly. The crazy part, of course, is that the day after we returned home, I heard those famous words "Mommy, I feel sick," just dropping my boys off at school less than a mile from our home. Craziness.

I can totally relate to your poor kiddos - good news is that I grew out of it. :-)
