where the wild things are

So this summer, in addition to all of the many exciting and fun things we did, the kids and I (along with good friends yet again) made a day trip to the Tacoma Zoo. This should be something we do on a regular basis considering we have a zoo pass, but life is wonderfully busy, so it just doesn't happen as much as we would like (almost never actually).

The funny thing is that I have not one picture of any of the animals. True, I have lots of pictures of wild little children who had a great time at the zoo's relatively new play area, but not a one of a hairy, sharped-toothed or long-necked creature. Ahh well. The kids are cuter anyway.

Love this picture of all the kids together ... even Joseph made it in. Brooks with the hippo.
Finally, I've caught them all ... now if I could just get them to stay put for 5 minutes.

And some jungle gym fun.

Good times. Oh, and in case there is any confusion owing to the sweatshirts and jackets that all of the children are sporting; I promise, this really did occur on a summer day!! It's called Seattle's terrible sense of humor.
