brooks pumpkin patch

Kindergartners love the pumpkin patch. Pretty sure that's a universal fact. It is a pretty cool place after all. It's outside, there's plenty of dirt around, sometimes animals, a school bus ride tends to be part of the outing, and often a yummy sack lunch. What's not to love?! Oh, and of course, picking your very own pumpkin is pretty awesome too.

Well, Brooks is a fairly typical kindergarten (mostly;). He definitely thought his pumpkin patch trip was something cool. And I thought it was great getting to go with him.

The outing was especially unique (compared to previous PP field trips I've been on) in that it was more of a farm experience as a whole, not just a visit to the pumpkin patch. The kids got to pick apples, carrots, and potatoes to take home. They had a little wagon ride. Munched on a bit of kale (can't imagine in what other setting they all would have been so willing). Had a snack of fresh apples. Fed chickens. etc. etc. Oh, and yes, each picked out their very own pumpkin (of course I missed a picture of that important moment, oh, well).

Brooks, your such a fun kid! And so good! Thanks for being willing to let me tag along;).
