hahobas (august 2014)

Scout Camp 2014! Where to start?! I obviously wasn't there so don't really know the details of what occurred, but I don't think it's too difficult to figure out;) ...

Boys arrived excited for a week of low-parental supervision, few to no showers/baths, a snack shack full of candies and sodas for sale, and lots of crazy adventure!

Boys had awesome time making a barrel raft as a group!
(Get a good look at Kevin in this pic--second from the left--because although he was there all week with the boys, this is the ONLY picture he actually made it into.)

Boys hauled barrel raft down to the water.

And got all geared up for a barrel race (I'm really just guessing here, but looks likely to me).

Race didn't move along too quickly but they definitely had a lot of fun!

Boys had a great time at this beautiful lake!!

In addition to barrel racing, boys also got in their share of canoeing.

Boys had fun in the beautiful sunshine!!

Did a little posing for the camera;).

Practiced some skills for the canoeing merit badge.

Were supervised by some awesome older scouts/camp instructors (in red).

And of course, finished up by practicing what to do if you swamp your boat.

Boys enjoyed a beautiful camp and a beautiful view.

Boys did all sorts of random and crazy things that I can't explain.

Like standing on logs (practicing Karate Kid moves???)

Boys also got to do some wood chopping!!

An all-time favorite activity since you get to whack something and build muscles at the same time--Oh, Yeah!!!

Okay, so admittedly I'm just making stuff up here (the perks of being the one in charge of our blog), but it does look like I was fairly accurate and that they did have a really great time! So nice of K to take a week off from work to be with them and the group!!

I've been meaning to update our blog layout with the new family pictures we had taken in November. But since I'm not going to get around to it anytime too soon, I thought I'd include a couple with this post. Aren't ' they cute! The crazy part, though, is that as much as I LOVE these pictures (thanks to McKenzie Goff), they will already be outdated as of September. Here's why ... Dueck baby #5 Arriving September 24 th 2010
