birthday fun (april 2015)

Later in the month of April was James' actual birthday. He of course turned the big 12, and scored a pretty awesome birthday present: a spiffy longboard that he'd had his eye on for quite some time! 

We first celebrated mid-week as a family with a few fun gifts and cards ... 

Then on the weekend, he got to have a "friend party" at a local park. 

In total James style, the group played all kinds of sports and games ... 

Until they almost couldn't play any longer (which is actually pretty much impossible).

And of course spent some time on the new longboard; in fact, Kevin could often be found taking it for a stroll;). 

All the kiddos were there and had a good time, and even Auntie Heidi made an appearance, as she happened to be in town working. 

We finished up with presents and a bit more fun, before heading home for the evening. 

So glad that the weather cooperated, and it turned out to be a perfect spring day ... perfect for a kid who never stops going and loves to be outside doing just about anything and everything active. Also glad that we got to celebrate such an awesome young man who has brought so much excitement and joy to our family. Love you, Jammer!!
