great wolf lodge (may 2015)

I can't remember for sure, but I think this was our second trip to the Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound, WA. I'm not gonna lie. I kinda hate indoor swimming pools; unless they're as warm as warmer than bath water. If I am going to be in a little swimsuit dipping my toes into cool water, I like to at least feel the warm sun on my back.

Needless to say, an indoor water park is really not my idea of a great time. I know I know, I'm a total baby. Even so, we did really enjoy our most recent trip to GWL. We like that it's big enough that there's something for everyone, but small enough that the older kids can wander off on their own and it's easy to keep track of each other.

I didn't get any pictures of us in the actual water park (I was probably too busy cringing and holding a warmed towel around my shivering body), but here's a little sampling of the other fun things we did while we were there ...

We had fun at the arcade (love the brows, Brooks!).

Joseph thought the lodge-themed bunk beds were pretty cool!

We had a good time with the new-addition ropes course.

We definitely enjoyed a yummy treat or two ...

Including a couple of unlimited-refill Icee cups.

Joseph loved getting to say "hi" to the Great Wolf himself (I'm guessing he has a name but I can't remember it right now).

And the kids enjoyed doing the MagiQuest adventure activity together. Or at least the younger three did--I think the older boys actually tired of it before long and headed back to the arcade.

This isn't exactly a picture of MagiQuest, but Mae is showing a MagiQuest wand that we purchased for the kids to share.

And using the wand to attempt a spell on her brother:-)!

Joseph also enjoyed the evening PJ party where there's an interactive bedtime story and some crazy dancing;). We were only there for one night, which is plenty for us, and overall had a pretty great time.

I've been meaning to update our blog layout with the new family pictures we had taken in November.
