On a no-school day in November (yep, that's still how far behind I am),the kids and I ventured down to Olympia to poke around the state Capitol. The weather ended up being the worse of the month (notice the rain jackets--not that those would be unusual for Seattle;). The drive down was grueling, and just the quick walk from a nearby parking lot to the front doors of the "Temple of Justice" left us soaked and tousled. But when a stubborn momma gets an idea in her head (especially something she believes will enrich her children:), there's just no stopping it; a fact my sweet husband finds quite amusing.
But we made it, passed off a scout requirement, and had a great time (I think ... right, guys?), and isn't that all that matters!
This is a result of wind and rain exhaustion.

The nice gentleman in this picture allowed us to check out the main conference room in the governor's office.

And sit in the chair she uses to sign bills.

Then we just had fun in the very empty building (apparently no one else was crazy enough to venture out) because it really was EMPTY!

We took tons of important pictures with historical symbols and figures.

Then we took lots of silly pictures, because well, the building is cool and we were wet and in one of those moods.
Can anyone see Brooks? All I see is a wall.

How to behave in the state Capitol ...

How not to behave in the state Capitol ... unless your tired and wet;)

Wow, girl, that's one big bench.

Mae's reaction when she heard we would be going straight home to eat spinach and do chores ...

I absolutely love spending time with these guys!!! Which reminds me, despite his absence in any and all pictures, Joseph was in fact a participator in our little fieldtrip:). I think he spent the time cocooned in his stroller. He's so good!
