Kevin and the boys managed to sneak in one last outing before the school year got in full swing (over Labor Day weekend).
They loaded up the kayaks ...

Jumped on the ferry (after driving the hour or so to get there) ...

And took advantage of a beautiful day at Whidbey Island's Lone Lake.

A relaxing day ...

Full of boating ...

And fishing ...

On the down side, i don't think they really caught anything, at least nothing substantial. Maybe they were a little too relaxed;).

But on the flip side, they did see an owl attacking a wild chicken. And this is a positive why? Well, they're boys ... and owls are cool regardless of what they're doing.
This is not a great picture, but I promise the owl is there. Gray oblong-ish speck thingy, right in the middle.

And now, the chicken--which I'm told managed to escape the attack. Lucky bird!

And then, the day was over. Good work boys (that is, "work";) Time to head home.
