A while back I blogged about James' 8th birthday, and now I finally get to blog about his baptism! The fact that it's now July 2nd and this all took place on May 7th? Well, that's just life. Even two months late, I would never miss the opportunity to mention how amazing this kid is, and how great it was to share in his baptism day with him.


Here is the whole family (minus picture taker, Heidi). We were also privileged to have some good friends join us ... Manjares and Sanner families, Grishams, Dawnette, etc.

There really is no greater joy than watching your children grow and make good choices.


These two are such great buds. James loves to help his dad with projects around the house (fixing things, splitting wood, home improvement projects). Grandma Loo! Grandpa & Grandma Dueck! Grandpa John!


Auntie Heidi! And here's our crazy, goofy, loud, active, amazing family!

James, you are an outstanding boy! You are so good at figuring out how things work. Thanks for fixing things for me and teaching me how to use my own phone/ipad:). You are smart, funny, handsome, strong, kind, gentle, and loving. It is an honor to be your mother!

And to finish off April, we have ...  Earth-Day excitement! Porter's promposal to this sweet girl!! Which involved singing to her (with his bro. and buddies) in front of about 75 surprised onlookers. Happy Birthday to G-ma Loo:-) And sunny family day at the park ... Looks like the man bun is still going strong!;)

Baby Joseph

Another little miracle, Joseph Benjamin Dueck , arrived in our family September 5 th , 2010 at 3:23pm. Of course, every mom describes the birth of her children as miraculous--I know, I feel that way about each of mine--but in this case Joseph's healthy arrival really did turn out to be something of a miracle. But before I get into the story, I have some catching up to do since I haven't blogged at all about this pregnancy. So ... Here's me on the first day of school which was just two days before Joseph was born. Since I was taking pictures of the kids, James decided I needed one as well. I'm actually glad he did, because I had been meaning to get a picture of my baby "bump" for days if not weeks and hadn't gotten around to it. Of course, I thought I still had plenty of time to make it happen. And just very quickly, I have to throw out some highlights from this pregnancy which for some reason all have to do with Mae ...
