twin falls winter hike (december 2016)

And for our final post of 2016, a fun winter hike!

I'm sort of cheating putting this in December (as it actually took place on New Years Day), but since it was part of our Christmas Break, I figure it works.

This was actually one of my favorite hikes!! We've done Twin Falls (https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/twin-falls-state-park) many many times before, and it's always a nice family hike, but being out there in the snow was kinda awesome! The scenery was pretty fantastic, and it was just a more leisurely, unique experience than typical.

The only down side was that we slipped and fell A LOT. Which was quite fun, but also somewhat painful;).
Group shot.

With Timmerman;).

I'm not sure all these pictures really need an explanation, so I think I'll just let them speak for themselves ...

Yep! It was pretty gorgeous and most of the photo credit goes to Porter Clarence Timmerman!!

This may have to be a new family tradition. Only next time, we might have to invest in some micro spikes so we spend a little more time on our feet and a little less painful moments on our backsides.

Here comes 2017!!

Number Five

I've been meaning to update our blog layout with the new family pictures we had taken in November. But since I'm not going to get around to it anytime too soon, I thought I'd include a couple with this post. Aren't ' they cute! The crazy part, though, is that as much as I LOVE these pictures (thanks to McKenzie Goff), they will already be outdated as of September. Here's why ... Dueck baby #5 Arriving September 24 th 2010

And to finish off April, we have ...  Earth-Day excitement! Porter's promposal to this sweet girl!! Which involved singing to her (with his bro. and buddies) in front of about 75 surprised onlookers. Happy Birthday to G-ma Loo:-) And sunny family day at the park ... Looks like the man bun is still going strong!;)

Baby Joseph

Another little miracle, Joseph Benjamin Dueck , arrived in our family September 5 th , 2010 at 3:23pm. Of course, every mom describes the birth of her children as miraculous--I know, I feel that way about each of mine--but in this case Joseph's healthy arrival really did turn out to be something of a miracle. But before I get into the story, I have some catching up to do since I haven't blogged at all about this pregnancy. So ... Here's me on the first day of school which was just two days before Joseph was born. Since I was taking pictures of the kids, James decided I needed one as well. I'm actually glad he did, because I had been meaning to get a picture of my baby "bump" for days if not weeks and hadn't gotten around to it. Of course, I thought I still had plenty of time to make it happen. And just very quickly, I have to throw out some highlights from this pregnancy which for some reason all have to do with Mae ... Mae telling me (during the first tri...
