daddy dates

One thing's for sure, we love our daddy! He's just plain fun ... and funny. The kids especially love their turn for a date/one-on-one with Dad whenever the opportunity arises.

So far this year, Brooks opted for a trip to the Spaghetti Factory. Kev and I brought home Italian soda glasses for the older boys after our trip to San Diego, and ever since then, Brooks has wanted one pretty badly. He was even sweet enough to bring a glass home for his sister.  Not to mention the not-so-fun parking ticket he brought home this date too...oh well, it was worth it!



And Mae went for lunch at Panera Bread ...



And some time at Build-a-Bear workshop (to use a gift certificate from our lovely Isabelle). I hear she got some serious compliments on her rockin' red beret!



Dads are the best!!:)

And to finish off April, we have ...  Earth-Day excitement! Porter's promposal to this sweet girl!! Which involved singing to her (with his bro. and buddies) in front of about 75 surprised onlookers. Happy Birthday to G-ma Loo:-) And sunny family day at the park ... Looks like the man bun is still going strong!;)

Baby Joseph

Another little miracle, Joseph Benjamin Dueck , arrived in our family September 5 th , 2010 at 3:23pm. Of course, every mom describes the birth of her children as miraculous--I know, I feel that way about each of mine--but in this case Joseph's healthy arrival really did turn out to be something of a miracle. But before I get into the story, I have some catching up to do since I haven't blogged at all about this pregnancy. So ... Here's me on the first day of school which was just two days before Joseph was born. Since I was taking pictures of the kids, James decided I needed one as well. I'm actually glad he did, because I had been meaning to get a picture of my baby "bump" for days if not weeks and hadn't gotten around to it. Of course, I thought I still had plenty of time to make it happen. And just very quickly, I have to throw out some highlights from this pregnancy which for some reason all have to do with Mae ...
