almost a teen

So, we currently do have a teenager in the house (remember, I'm super behind, so Porter is now 13). but this post shows the day--a year-and-a-half ago--when we celebrated the big event.

I can't believe how fast my "little boy" has grown up. More than anything, it just reminds me what babies K & I were when we had him; that, and how quickly he'll be an adult and gone from our home. Whaa:(!

I'm not going to spend much time on this post, since I already need to log his 13th birthday as well, but I promise to take a bit more time in that one to describe my amazing little/big guy!!

I'm sure it could change soon, but Porter has definitely been a family/home kid. I can't remember the last time he chose to have a friend party instead of just doing something together as a family.

We are so happy to be parents! And so grateful for our kids.

Love our grandma's too (and grandpa's)!

They really are amazing!

Another grandma shot:).

Goofy guy.

Pretty happy to be getting a laptop!

Number Five

I've been meaning to update our blog layout with the new family pictures we had taken in November. And to finish off April, we have ...  Earth-Day excitement! Porter's promposal to this sweet girl!! Which involved singing to her (with his bro. and buddies) in front of about 75 surprised onlookers. Happy Birthday to G-ma Loo:-) And sunny family day at the park ... Looks like the man bun is still going strong!;)

Baby Joseph

Another little miracle, Joseph Benjamin Dueck , arrived in our family September 5 th , 2010 at 3:23pm. Of course, every mom describes the birth of her children as miraculous--I know, I feel that way about each of mine--but in this case Joseph's healthy arrival really did turn out to be something of a miracle. But before I get into the story, I have some catching up to do since I haven't blogged at all about this pregnancy. So ... Here's me on the first day of school which was just two days before Joseph was born. Since I was taking pictures of the kids, James decided I needed one as well. I'm actually glad he did, because I had been meaning to get a picture of my baby "bump" for days if not weeks and hadn't gotten around to it. Of course, I thought I still had plenty of time to make it happen. And just very quickly, I have to throw out some highlights from this pregnancy which for some reason all have to do with Mae ... Mae telling me (during the first tri...
