easter fun 2015

While Kevin and James were away for their fun weekend in Utah, the rest of us were enjoying a nice Easter weekend together back at home. 

This is just kinda a splattering of our Easter fun ... 

We dyed Easter eggs, had baskets full of sugary sweetness, and Mae (and some of the boys??) made Easter cards and decorations which made it onto a wall in the entryway. 


And after a very nice Easter church service, we enjoyed a delicious Easter dinner at Jill's house, and of course fit in a fast and furious Easter egg hunt before heading home ... 

Oh, and since G-ma Loo's birthday happened to fall on Easter weekend, we got to sing happy birthday and give her a few fun presents:-). 

I love Easter!! Love that it's in the Spring with all that represents. Love the focus on new life in all it's shapes and forms. Love our Savior in whom we trust and worship, and through whom we can hope to live again, as does he.

And to finish off April, we have ...  Earth-Day excitement! Porter's promposal to this sweet girl!! Which involved singing to her (with his bro. and buddies) in front of about 75 surprised onlookers. Happy Birthday to G-ma Loo:-) And sunny family day at the park ... Looks like the man bun is still going strong!;)

Baby Joseph

Another little miracle, Joseph Benjamin Dueck , arrived in our family September 5 th , 2010 at 3:23pm. Of course, every mom describes the birth of her children as miraculous--I know, I feel that way about each of mine--but in this case Joseph's healthy arrival really did turn out to be something of a miracle. But before I get into the story, I have some catching up to do since I haven't blogged at all about this pregnancy. So ... Here's me on the first day of school which was just two days before Joseph was born. Since I was taking pictures of the kids, James decided I needed one as well. I'm actually glad he did, because I had been meaning to get a picture of my baby "bump" for days if not weeks and hadn't gotten around to it. Of course, I thought I still had plenty of time to make it happen. And just very quickly, I have to throw out some highlights from this pregnancy which for some reason all have to do with Mae ...
