36 big ones! (may 2016)

This year I officially tipped the scale on this 30s thing, and will be hitting that big 4-0 before I know it!;) I've definitely had some great experiences in the past several months with family, friends, and business endeavors, and am looking forward to the excitement of what is still to follow.

I was completely spoiled (yet again) for my birthday!

An amazing friend dropped this by for me, which made for a great start to my special day!

Kevin took me out to lunch at The Cheesecake Factory and we discovered our new favorite CF dessert--Banana Cream Cheesecake.

In the evening, we did what I love best and played around outside with the family at a local park.

Then after church on Sunday, we enjoyed a yummy dinner together--that I (mostly) didn't have to cook;)--and ate delicious strawberry cheesecake. Since I seriously love food, my birthday could have been complete right here!

But my family is way too good to me, and had prepared all kinds of thoughtful prizes .

Don't remember how this started exactly (maybe just to show these boys that a 36-year-old momma has still got some game;), but after present opening I wowed these two studs with my manly biceps.

Thanks guys!!

Number Five

I've been meaning to update our blog layout with the new family pictures we had taken in November. But since I'm not going to get around to it anytime too soon, I thought I'd include a couple with this post. Aren't ' they cute! The crazy part, though, is that as much as I LOVE these pictures (thanks to McKenzie Goff), they will already be outdated as of September. Here's why ... Dueck baby #5 Arriving September 24 th 2010

And to finish off April, we have ...  Earth-Day excitement! Porter's promposal to this sweet girl!! Which involved singing to her (with his bro. and buddies) in front of about 75 surprised onlookers. Happy Birthday to G-ma Loo:-) And sunny family day at the park ... Looks like the man bun is still going strong!;)

Baby Joseph

Another little miracle, Joseph Benjamin Dueck , arrived in our family September 5 th , 2010 at 3:23pm. Of course, every mom describes the birth of her children as miraculous--I know, I feel that way about each of mine--but in this case Joseph's healthy arrival really did turn out to be something of a miracle. But before I get into the story, I have some catching up to do since I haven't blogged at all about this pregnancy. So ... Here's me on the first day of school which was just two days before Joseph was born. Since I was taking pictures of the kids, James decided I needed one as well. I'm actually glad he did, because I had been meaning to get a picture of my baby "bump" for days if not weeks and hadn't gotten around to it. Of course, I thought I still had plenty of time to make it happen. And just very quickly, I have to throw out some highlights from this pregnancy which for some reason all have to do with Mae ... Mae telling me (during the first tri...
