And while we were hiking to Poo Poo Point, Porter was with the Scouts his age, hiking Mt. Adams

I'm really not going to pretend like I know anything about it, but I do think it was the South Climb/Lunch Counter Approach that they set out for (http://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/mount-adams-south-climb).

They headed out on a Friday morning with some great leaders.

And started hiking pretty much as soon as they got there.

Looks like some breaks followed.

And plenty more hiking.

I'm guessing this is the Lunch Counter where they will set up camp for the night.

And try to get some rest before an early wake-up call.

And on towards the summit.

More breaks.

And then eventually they arrive.

Grateful to be at the top.

With some pretty interesting/cool sites.

And an amazing view!!

Number Five

I've been meaning to update our blog layout with the new family pictures we had taken in November. But since I'm not going to get around to it anytime too soon, I thought I'd include a couple with this post. Aren't ' they cute! And to finish off April, we have ... Earth-Day excitement! Porter's promposal to this sweet girl!! Which involved singing to her (with his bro. and buddies) in front of about 75 surprised onlookers. Happy Birthday to G-ma Loo:-) And sunny family day at the park ... Looks like the man bun is still going strong!;)

Baby Joseph

Another little miracle, Joseph Benjamin Dueck , arrived in our family September 5 th , 2010 at 3:23pm. Of course, every mom describes the birth of her children as miraculous--I know, I feel that way about each of mine--but in this case Joseph's healthy arrival really did turn out to be something of a miracle. But before I get into the story, I have some catching up to do since I haven't blogged at all about this pregnancy. So ... Here's me on the first day of school which was just two days before Joseph was born. Since I was taking pictures of the kids, James decided I needed one as well. I'm actually glad he did, because I had been meaning to get a picture of my baby "bump" for days if not weeks and hadn't gotten around to it. Of course, I thought I still had plenty of time to make it happen. And just very quickly, I have to throw out some highlights from this pregnancy which for some reason all have to do with Mae ...
