joe's first haircut;)

When Joseph was born, I really did not have intentions of calling him "joe." Not that I had a clue what nickname we were going to use, but I figured something perfect would surface. Well, he's now 16 mos (about 12 mos in this post, since I'm just a tad bit behind:) and still nothing. Not really anyway. I noticed the other day, though, that his big brother (porter) had taken to calling him Joe. In a really cute way too. Like old college roommates shooting the breeze (what an odd figure or speech??). So, in honor of Porter, I am giving "Joe" a try.

Moving on, our cute little Joe;) got his first haircut at the end of the summer. As made clear in a previous post, the adorable child was seriously in need of a cut. And as mentioned in said post, we have an amazing hair stylist in the family who loves us so much she's willing to make home visits.

Nothing like bribing a one-year-old to hold still with a sticky lollipop (only problem is, all the hair sticks to it).

Notice the mohawk is now much shorter, thanks to an initial snip with auntie's cool purple scissors.

Oh, yeah. still loving the lollipop.
And still. Man, doesn't look like he's going to give that thing up.

Oh, the mean mom stole it away. But isn't he cute!

Number Five

I've been meaning to update our blog layout with the new family pictures we had taken in November. The crazy part, though, is that as much as I LOVE these pictures (thanks to McKenzie Goff), they will already be outdated as of September. Here's why ... Dueck baby #5 Arriving September 24 th 2010

april 2018 misc.

And to finish off April, we have ...  Earth-Day excitement! Porter's promposal to this sweet girl!! Which involved singing to her (with his bro. and buddies) in front of about 75 surprised onlookers. Happy Birthday to G-ma Loo:-) And sunny family day at the park ... Looks like the man bun is still going strong!;)

Baby Joseph

Another little miracle, Joseph Benjamin Dueck , arrived in our family September 5 th , 2010 at 3:23pm. Of course, every mom describes the birth of her children as miraculous--I know, I feel that way about each of mine--but in this case Joseph's healthy arrival really did turn out to be something of a miracle. But before I get into the story, I have some catching up to do since I haven't blogged at all about this pregnancy. So ... Here's me on the first day of school which was just two days before Joseph was born. Since I was taking pictures of the kids, James decided I needed one as well. I'm actually glad he did, because I had been meaning to get a picture of my baby "bump" for days if not weeks and hadn't gotten around to it. Of course, I thought I still had plenty of time to make it happen. And just very quickly, I have to throw out some highlights from this pregnancy which for some reason all have to do with Mae ... Mae telling me (during the first tri...
