And on to Halloween ...
which is always fairly predictable for us--in an exciting way, of course;).  

We carve pumpkins.

Always love to have grandmas over for the excitement!

Woohoo! Aunt Heidi and her soon-to-be-finance, Darren, got to join us this year.

And, voila ...

Of course we also always attend a "carnival" and trunk-or-treat at our church building.
Let's see, this year I think we brought a GI Joe, vampire princess, mini minion, Ben 10 fire guy, and Harry Potter to the par-tay;).

Gotta love a teenager dressed up as a teenager!

This is a seriously loud car right about now.

And in recent years, we then always make our way to the home of some amazing friends, to prolong the excitement by hanging out and trick-or-treating in their fantastically festive neighborhood.

Success! Can we go to bed now, please?!

And to finish off April, we have ...  Earth-Day excitement! Porter's promposal to this sweet girl!! Which involved singing to her (with his bro. and buddies) in front of about 75 surprised onlookers. Happy Birthday to G-ma Loo:-) And sunny family day at the park ... Looks like the man bun is still going strong!;)

Baby Joseph

Another little miracle, Joseph Benjamin Dueck , arrived in our family September 5 th , 2010 at 3:23pm. Of course, every mom describes the birth of her children as miraculous--I know, I feel that way about each of mine--but in this case Joseph's healthy arrival really did turn out to be something of a miracle. But before I get into the story, I have some catching up to do since I haven't blogged at all about this pregnancy. So ... Here's me on the first day of school which was just two days before Joseph was born. Since I was taking pictures of the kids, James decided I needed one as well. I'm actually glad he did, because I had been meaning to get a picture of my baby "bump" for days if not weeks and hadn't gotten around to it. Of course, I thought I still had plenty of time to make it happen. And just very quickly, I have to throw out some highlights from this pregnancy which for some reason all have to do with Mae ...
