crazy fun boys--brooks 9th b-day! (november 2016)

I know I've gone on about boy parties in the past (they're just so darn easy). So, I'll try to refrain this time other than to say, wow! was this a big change from planning/hosting Mae's recent party:-)!!

Brooks was very excited to have some of his buddies come hang out to celebrate the big "9"!

He opted for everyone to come over for pizza and snacks ...

Then to carry the fun right on over to our local skating rink for some wild time on wheels ...

Then back to our house again for presents ...

I LOVE this picture!!

What could be better than Seahawks socks and moolah?!

Oh, yeah, video games;)!

And more video games ...

Happy boy right here!

These girls popped in sometime during the party to hang with the guys.

And just in time to enjoy Brooks' favorite b-day treat with him--ice cream sandwich cake.
Yum yum!!

Brooks is an awesome kid. He is a big goof a lot of the time and full of surprises. He is sensitive and kind (when he chooses to be:-). He has a love for academics, reading, video games (obviously), and friends. He is a great swimmer and really likes spending time on roller blades, scooters, and bikes. He hates wrestling with a passion, but was good enough to patiently participate for years anyway;). He keeps us entertained with his special ability to take super quirky pictures. He is a special part of our family and will be an amazing young man some day!!

Number Five

I've been meaning to update our blog layout with the new family pictures we had taken in November. But since I'm not going to get around to it anytime too soon, I thought I'd include a couple with this post. Aren't ' they cute! The crazy part, though, is that as much as I LOVE these pictures (thanks to McKenzie Goff), they will already be outdated as of September. Here's why ... Dueck baby #5 Arriving September 24 th 2010

And to finish off April, we have ...  Earth-Day excitement! Porter's promposal to this sweet girl!! Which involved singing to her (with his bro. and buddies) in front of about 75 surprised onlookers. Happy Birthday to G-ma Loo:-) And sunny family day at the park ... Looks like the man bun is still going strong!;)

Baby Joseph

Another little miracle, Joseph Benjamin Dueck , arrived in our family September 5 th , 2010 at 3:23pm. Of course, every mom describes the birth of her children as miraculous--I know, I feel that way about each of mine--but in this case Joseph's healthy arrival really did turn out to be something of a miracle. But before I get into the story, I have some catching up to do since I haven't blogged at all about this pregnancy. So ... Here's me on the first day of school which was just two days before Joseph was born. Since I was taking pictures of the kids, James decided I needed one as well. I'm actually glad he did, because I had been meaning to get a picture of my baby "bump" for days if not weeks and hadn't gotten around to it. Of course, I thought I still had plenty of time to make it happen. And just very quickly, I have to throw out some highlights from this pregnancy which for some reason all have to do with Mae ... Mae telling me (during the first tri...
