marvel universe live! (february 2016)

Next was a really cool experience that the kids (but Joseph in particular) was looking forward to for quite some time: Marvel Universe Live! (https://www.marveluniverselive.com) at the Tacoma Dome. I was really just along for the family experience, but it was actually a pretty great show for everyone. The technical aspect of the production was pretty amazing--there were carefully choreographed motorcycle scenes, areal contraptions descending and ascending from the ceiling, all kinds of lights/smoke/fire/etc., and of course all the Marvel super heroes your heart could desire.

We didn't get any great shots of the family, but here's a couple--mostly of Mae messing around:-).

And then a few pics of the actual action!

I think everyone in the Dome was pretty ramped up when the Hulk arrived!!

Good shot of some of the "stage" lighting.

Lots of flying or swinging super heroes.

Spider Man was pretty cool to watch with all of his acrobatics.

And there's a couple of those motorcycles I was talking about (albeit not a great pic).

And that's a wrap!

Number Five

I've been meaning to update our blog layout with the new family pictures we had taken in November. But since I'm not going to get around to it anytime too soon, I thought I'd include a couple with this post. Aren't ' they cute! The crazy part, though, is that as much as I LOVE these pictures (thanks to McKenzie Goff), they will already be outdated as of September. Here's why ... Dueck baby #5 Arriving September 24 th 2010

april 2018 misc.

And to finish off April, we have ...  Earth-Day excitement! Porter's promposal to this sweet girl!! Which involved singing to her (with his bro. and buddies) in front of about 75 surprised onlookers. Happy Birthday to G-ma Loo:-) And sunny family day at the park ... Looks like the man bun is still going strong!;)

Baby Joseph

Another little miracle, Joseph Benjamin Dueck , arrived in our family September 5 th , 2010 at 3:23pm. Of course, every mom describes the birth of her children as miraculous--I know, I feel that way about each of mine--but in this case Joseph's healthy arrival really did turn out to be something of a miracle. But before I get into the story, I have some catching up to do since I haven't blogged at all about this pregnancy. So ... Here's me on the first day of school which was just two days before Joseph was born. Since I was taking pictures of the kids, James decided I needed one as well. I'm actually glad he did, because I had been meaning to get a picture of my baby "bump" for days if not weeks and hadn't gotten around to it. Of course, I thought I still had plenty of time to make it happen. And just very quickly, I have to throw out some highlights from this pregnancy which for some reason all have to do with Mae ... Mae telling me (during the first tri...
